What is Mediation?

Family mediation gives separated couples and parents the opportunity to make their own decisions regarding arrangements for their children, property and finances, with the support of trained family mediators.

The mediation process helps you avoid legal proceedings and is less stressful, quicker and cheaper than going to court . You are in control of the decision making process and any proposals made. Mediation is voluntary so the process only takes place if you both wish to participate.

Mediators are impartial and do not take sides or tell you what to do. We help you to consider your options and support you both to resolve matters that are important to each of you.

Parents who have been separated for some time but are experiencing difficulties agreeing about matters to do with their children.
